Cookies and similar browser storage help the store remember a basket, recognise an account and keep product selections. Some storage also records how a visit reached the shop.
What cookies and local storage do
A cookie is a small value stored by your browser and sent with relevant website requests. Local storage keeps information in the browser until it is removed. A pixel or tracking script can send an event without necessarily creating a cookie. The storage used depends on which features you use, your browser settings and connected services.
Basket and account cookies
- woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart: help the cart recognise changes to its contents. Their normal lifetime is the browser session.
- wp_woocommerce_session_*: links your browser to its stored cart session. The WooCommerce default lifetime is two days; site or browser settings may alter this.
- WordPress login cookies: are used when you sign in to keep the account session authenticated. Their lifetime depends on sign-in settings, including whether you choose to stay signed in.
Cart or account cookies may only appear after you use those features. The default cart lifetimes above are documented by WooCommerce. Blocking this storage can prevent a basket or sign-in from working correctly.
Saved products on this device
The store uses local-storage entries named rctk_wishlist, rctk_compare and rctk_recent for wishlist, comparison and recently viewed product IDs when those features are used. The code does not give these entries an automatic expiry date. They remain until removed, cleared by your browser or evicted by the browser.
A rctk_storage_notice entry may remember dismissal of the theme’s storage notice if that notice is enabled. Dismissing an information notice is not the same as choosing consent for advertising. Saved selections on one browser do not automatically become selections on another device.
Order-attribution cookies
The live store uses WooCommerce order attribution. During the review for this policy, the browser received sbjs_migrations, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current, sbjs_first, sbjs_udata and sbjs_session.
These record referral and campaign information, visit details and browser information so an order can be associated with the route by which the customer found the store. The first six were session cookies; sbjs_session had an approximately 30-minute lifetime. If you place an order, attribution information may be saved with that order. This is measurement storage, not a requirement for choosing a toy. Read more in WooCommerce’s order-attribution documentation.
Advertising and external services
The site includes Reddit for WooCommerce tracking code. Its operation depends on the integration’s connection and settings. For example, following an advertising link containing a Reddit click ID can create a session cookie named rdtCid; a connected integration can measure visits, product views or purchase-related events.
Loading that integration’s code is not proof that every event reaches Reddit. The review did not observe a Reddit cookie on an ordinary homepage visit without an advertising link. For the provider’s explanation of advertising storage and controls, see the Reddit for Business Cookie Notice.
Following links to Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp or Google Maps takes you to services with their own storage practices. A future connected payment or advertising feature may use additional storage; this policy should be updated when that configuration changes.
Your controls
- Use your browser’s privacy or site-settings menu to inspect, block or delete cookies and stored data for remotecontroltoys.co.ke.
- Clear site data to remove device-local saved products as well as cookies. This can sign you out or empty saved selections.
- Browser tracking protection or content-blocking controls can limit third-party requests. Blocking cookies alone does not necessarily stop a pixel or server-side event.
- There is currently no on-site cookie-preference panel. The available controls described here are browser controls, not a claim that this site asks for a cookie choice before setting attribution cookies.
